Battlestar Galactica

In the seventh millennium, A.D., Galactica is the only surviving battlestar after an attack by the evil Cylons. As a result of the attack, peace and most of humankind has been wiped out. Commander Adama leads the Battlestar named Galactica along with several more lesser ships in a search for their legendary, but mystical origin planet known as Earth. The Cylon are in league with Count Baltar and are pursuing the lone human survivors.

Fast forward to 2004 and a reimagining of the original series is a darker, grittier vision of the space opera. The Caprica colony has been all but wiped out by the Cylon machines and the weary human survivalists are led by Galactica, an old Battlestar set for decommission. This new series has outstanding special effects and very complex character development. It's a fine readaptation of the original premise. Now go and watch yourself some Battlestar Galactica.
